    i was told by a dealer that my 'trans output shaft seal has a minor leak, i have a 2002 ford mustang 3. 8L base with a 5 speed manual transmission, will this be a costly fix or easy on my wallet at a local repair shop.

    those seals always look a little wet that "seepage" is what keeps them lubricated. big drops of fluid are an indication that they are leaking. the severity of the leak is what you need to concern.

    same as any other u pull it out with a curved pick or screwdriver. i will tear it up during the process. this is normal u replace it with a new one.

  • I cannot find the output shaft seals for my 02 Eclipse Gt 5 speed anywhere in a 20 mile radius, I have checked Advance, Autozone, O'reilly's and Pepboys. I have not checked the dealer yet because they have been closed. But what is the part number.
