    usually the fittings are not the same so only the return on pump fits the return on gear box

  • is there a way to adjust the play in the steering box, there is a 1/4 turn of the steering wheel before the front wheels respond. truck has a 225 slant 6 and an auto trans. it does not have the power steering cooler option. thought id ask before.

    There is a bolt sticking out of the top of the box with a jamb nut on it. With the wheels straight ahead, raise the front wheels off the ground. loosen the jamb nut and turn the bolt clock wise.

  • I called on a 90s F-150 and the guy said it has the stock gear box in it but needs a different one due to it having 33s,he has the other box but doesn't have time to put it on he said its only 3 bolts and your done,is it really that easy.

    If it is not rack and pinnion then it should not be too much trouble. Just undo the connection to the column and the bolts to the chassis and the steering link.
