Audi hybridVolkswagen AG, the parent company of the Audi and VW brands, has ambitious goals of overtaking Toyota and General Motors in the global sales rankings.Â
Audi revealed the posh and sporty 2012 A6 on Monday in Detroit.
A hybrid, which will be sold in other markets, also was shown.Â
So is that car coming here.
Audi of America president Johan de Nysschen told AutoWeek that a decision is still a ways off.
In fact, if that car does come to the United States, it might not be until 2015.
The A6 hybrid is touted to get the equivalent of 38 mpg on European calculations and could help Audi meet stricter U. S. fuel-economy regulations.
The company's first hybrid will be the Q5 crossover.
For the A6, Americans will get a supercharged 3.Â
