    seal $10+-, bearing $30+-. me at home, no lift, and since the diff cover has to come off, i'd want to do a full inspection there. i'd count on four hours+. if everything else is good. depends on.

    Yes, a used, undamaged axle shaft should be just fine. I would also replace the bearing just because it is too difficult to determine the condition of the existing bearing and too easy to change.

    i got a 2000 plymouth breeze. and every time i drive i can feel the vibration and i can hear the humming noise from the front as i accelerate to 35 or 40mph. making left and right turns is ok. but only when i increase speed. noise gets a little.

    CV's typically make a clicking noise when turning corners. Your problem is wheel bearings.

    The plate that the drum just reaches at the back when you place it over the lugs and over the shoes . the thing the shoes all mount on. In the chilton there is some confusion to me wether this is the axle shaft and bearings or what.

    Whats the problem. Is it rubbing. You can check the axle by jacking up the rear, removing the wheel and drum, and putting it in drive to look at the axle flange. Make sure the truck is property.
