Are those CV quick boot kits worth the money?

I have both right and left outer CV boots torn on a '91 Camry. Should I get the screw together type or the glue together type of quick boots. Should I get a complete OEM boot. How tough is it to replace just the boot and not the entire.

If your in a bind somewhere or short on cash, quick boots will get you by. But they will not last long. You will need to either put OEM boots or just go ahead and replace the CV shaft (cv joints).

is it worth saving the extra bucks by just replacing the torn booth with a booth kit or go with paying a bit mroe and replacing the whole cv joint.

Replace the whole axle. Axles have gone way down in price over the past 10 years. The labor to replace it will be the same if you were to replace just the boot. Also if the boot has been torn for.

there is a rubber boot that covers some axle cv i beleive and it broke off leaving the metal inside exposed. Will this make the axle eventually fail or what i think i heard if the boot is off it will fail.

If the boot covering the cv joint has fallen off, then you need to replace it ASAP. The cv joint is packed with grease which will act like a dirt magnet picking up all the road sand and dirt.
